To my precious pup

Today the 2nd love of my life, Elvis the dog, turns one year old. And yes, if you're wondering, Kennedy is the 1st.

Elvis has brought much adventure, joy, and laughter to our otherwise monotonous lives and we want to celebrate him today!

Kennedy and I got Elvis a new tag for his collar with his name and my number. We also got him several toys, which I dumped out of a bag onto the floor and let him carry every single one over to his dog bed. This dog is so spoiled, but he deserves it!

Hopefully, now that Elvis is an official "adult", we hope for him to have shed these habits:
1. Digging through the bathroom trash and clamping his jaw around things you don't want to imagine.
2. Knocking glasses and cups off of tables to get to their contents.
3. Biting through computer cords and other various wires.
4. Barking at the toad in the back yard.
5. Commencing a game of "chase" every time we try to put his leash on.

Things that we hope Elvis NEVER grows out of!
1. "Hating cats" - from Kennedy
2. Snuggling (and burrowing into our sides and neck so hard that he cuts off his air supply and snorts like a pig)
3. His curious personality
4. His extreme excitement any time he hasn't seen us for at least 5 seconds.
5. His head tilt when we talk to him like a human.

We love you, Elvis! Happy Birthday!

Diets, Riots, and More!

Today is a special day, friends. Today is the first day that I have FULLY QUIT the Fat Flush Plan.

Okay, here's the breakdown of it all. Two weeks ago yesterday, Kennedy decided to try out this fat flush plan, recommended to us by Stephanie and Stinson. I reluctantly agreed, trying to play the good wife and support my husband.

The short of it is this: no bread/wheat products, NO DAIRY, no caffeine, no sugar, and you have to add all this other stuff in like flaxseed and flaxseed oil. There's also a cranberry-water solution involved. All of this is to detox your body, cleanse the liver which is responsible for breaking down anything you ingest, yadda yadda. It's legit. I read the first 3 chapters and was PUMPED to try it because it sounded so good for you.

Well, I made it. Two weeks on this diet, and I cheated every single day. But it was in moderation, so I actually have lost 3 pounds. Not to mention we started P90X the same day as the diet.

The diet is actually something like 6 or 8 weeks involving some lifestyle change at the end, but I am quitting because I NEED CHEESE. I NEED BREAD. But I definitely will have those things in moderation from now on. And I think I might stick to the no caffeine thing for a bit longer.

If you are wanting to lose weight, and do so in a healthy way that rids your body of harmful toxins in our food, then I recommend Fat Flush. Go buy the book. Just don't start it right before any kind of holiday or birthday or vacation.

Kennedy has lost 8 pounds and he has cheated one time total. Good for him!

In other news, I am starting book 4 of the Twilight Saga (Breaking Dawn.)

I can't wait for the New Moon movie! Twilight books will turn you into a teenage girl.
Ummm...I'm at a loss for words now. I think I'll go add some pictures to my facebook!

Stinson Freeze Frame

Comment with your own caption!

"I'll be downstairs eating peanuts"

Hello, Blog-world!

Kennedy just went downstairs to eat peanuts, obviously.

We just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out a name for this blog, and finally came up with "The Dean Spot." I'm not sure how I feel about it, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment with them!

At this moment, I'm listening to Elvis scratch at the door, while 2-
4 people yell "NO, ELVIS!" from downstairs.

Oh yeah, Kennedy and I are STILL living with my parents. No news yet on the elusive house, so we are currently homeless. My parents seem to be running a shelter out of their home.

Not much to blog about at the moment. More to come later!
